Trail Overview
Rock Ridge is a scenic elevated trail located on the far corner of Concan Adventure Trails near Tower Road. The route follows the ranch fence line for much of the trail while providing expansive views of the surrounding Hill Country landscape. One side of the trail is bordered by the fence line while the opposite side gradually drops in elevation, creating an exposed ridgeline feel without becoming overly intimidating. The trail leads to a scenic overlook with views toward Concan and the surrounding hills, making it one of the better sightseeing trails within the park. Depending on which entrance is used, drivers may encounter a more technical rocky section near the overlook before reaching the ridgeline.
Difficulty
On this trail, you’ll encounter a mix of dirt, gravel, and rocky terrain with moderate elevation changes throughout the route. Most of the trail remains relatively straightforward, though the elevated ridgeline sections can feel narrow in areas due to the gradual drop-off alongside the trail. Near one of the entrances to the overlook, drivers will need to navigate several larger rocks and uneven surfaces that require careful tire placement.
