Trail Overview
Danger Lane is one of the most extreme trails located within Concan Adventure Trails and is intended strictly for dedicated rock crawlers and off-road buggies built for highly technical terrain. The trail begins at the backside base of CAT Mountain before immediately climbing steeply uphill through a narrow rocky chute. From the start, the trail offers very little room for error and quickly commits drivers to difficult terrain with limited opportunities to turn around. After the initial climb, the route continues along the edge of the mountain on an extremely narrow shelf-style trail lined with thick overgrown vegetation. Exposure, tight clearances, and constant uneven terrain make this one of the most intimidating and technical trails in the park. This route is not suitable for full-size stock vehicles or lightly modified 4x4s.
Difficulty
On this trail, you’ll encounter steep rock climbs, severe off-camber sections, loose rock, ledges, and extremely tight trail width throughout the route. The initial ascent requires excellent traction, suspension articulation, and careful tire placement as the trail climbs aggressively uphill over uneven rocky terrain. Once on the ridgeline, the trail narrows significantly with off-camber shelf sections that can feel very exposed depending on vehicle width. Large rocks, loose surfaces, and overgrown brush add additional difficulty and increase the risk of body damage. Recovery points, locking differentials, aggressive off-road tires, and highly modified suspension setups are strongly recommended. Overall, Danger Lane represents the highest difficulty level within the park and should only be attempted by experienced drivers in purpose-built off-road vehicles or buggies.
