Trail Overview
Aoudad Xing is a scenic backroad-style trail located within Concan Adventure Trails that offers a relaxing drive through the Hill Country landscape. The route winds through natural terrain with open views, tall vegetation, and a quieter atmosphere compared to some of the more technical nearby trails. Along the trail, drivers will encounter a creek bed crossing that adds a bit of challenge and variety to the route.
Difficulty
On this trail, you’ll encounter a mostly dirt and gravel surface with minor uneven terrain and a creek bed crossing along the route. While the trail itself remains relatively easy under normal conditions, the creek crossing can become more technical depending on water flow, erosion, or recent rain. Vehicles with a longer wheelbase may have difficulty navigating the crossing due to the breakover angle and uneven creek bank entry points. Mud and loose rock near the creek bed can also reduce traction in wet conditions. Overall, Aoudad Xing is considered an easy-to-moderate trail suitable for most high-clearance 4x4s, though longer vehicles should use caution at the crossing.
