Long Pit Road

This is a connector trail that runs from Massengale Mountain over to Smoky Junction. It is a simple gravel road with the potential for good scenery if you go when the leaves are down. The highlight of this trail is that it ends at Smoky Junction and the local favorite, Hembree Grocery. At the bottom of the trail, when you meet the blacktop, turn left, and that will lead you right to it on your right. The bologna is amazing. It has been around since 1949. The trail is simple, but the destination is worth it. There is no cell service with T-Mobile or FirstNet. Make sure you have your routes and maps downloaded beforehand. This is inside the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency land, so make sure you grab your hunting license or your high-impact permit prior to riding.
