Trail Overview

Cell Tower Road is nearly a mile long access road into the Sundquist Unit of the North Cumberland OHV Riding Area. It starts on the Howard Baker Highway at the Shell gas station, on the east side of Interstate 75. The wide shelf road climbs up for .8 miles, gaining about 500 feet elevation, following underneath the power lines. The road is mostly gravel and dirt, with shallow ruts running down the side of the road, lined with overgrown bushes. This trail is more exposed to the sun, so it’s dried out and not as muddy as many of the trails within the system. It has a few sweeping hairpin turns. This is a good way to either access the trail system, or access a gas station from the trail system. There is not a designated parking area for the system at this access point.
