Trail Overview

This trail is one of the most scenic routes in the area, offering an enjoyable drive through the forest with spectacular views from the surrounding ridgelines. Entering from the northern end, the initial climb follows an unmaintained, hard-packed sandy and gravel surface where rainfall has created several eroded sections, including rough patches, washouts, and deep ruts. Although most of the route is straightforward to follow, one section approximately 100 yards long requires extra attention due to loose, crumbly sand and significant erosion. Careful line selection is recommended to maintain traction while climbing. ATVs and SxSs should have little difficulty navigating this area, while larger vehicles should proceed with additional caution. As the trail continues along the forested ridgeline, several large dispersed campsites suitable for groups can be found, making the route popular with hunters and off-road enthusiasts. Farther south, the road transitions to smooth, hard-packed grey gravel that is exceptionally easy to drive. The southern entrance also features a large staging area with ample parking for trailers, ATVs, and SxSs, making it an excellent starting point for exploring the surrounding trail network.
