Trail Overview

This trail begins as a well-maintained forest road, with a large campsite on the right near the start. The campsite includes a simple stone fire ring and several pre-cut logs around the fire pit, making it a comfortable place to stop or spend the night. From there, the trail climbs gradually into the mountains with a series of gentle inclines that are easy to navigate. After reaching a junction with another trail, the road narrows considerably, and drivers should expect significant pinstriping from overhanging branches and dense vegetation. Although this section does not appear to receive frequent traffic, it remains passable with a capable vehicle. A second campsite can be found farther along on a small hill with its own short access spur. The trail passes through beautiful pine forest, and hidden rocks beneath the soft forest floor can require careful tire placement. Although onX indicates that part of the route is closed, there is clear evidence of through traffic continuing beyond that point. The surrounding area also contains an abundance of fallen and cut timber, making it a suitable location for collecting firewood where permitted.
