Trail Overview
Diverging south from FS 58, FS 5800025 acts as a pleasant, out-and-back woodland spur pushing into the Mt. Hood National Forest. The environment is defined by a thick, thriving evergreen canopy that occasionally opens up to reveal vibrant seasonal foliage colors and bright wildflower patches lining the shoulders. For the driving surface, travelers will find a narrow single-lane track constructed of packed gravel and firm dirt that earns an easy level 1 difficulty rating. Most folks detour down this quiet dead-end route to claim one of the two medium-sized dispersed campsites waiting at the terminus, offering an incredibly picturesque and secluded spot to pitch a tent or relax. The track's easygoing nature and beautiful scenery make it a fantastic, quick escape from the busier main thoroughfares.
Difficulty
Holding a level 1 rating, this straightforward gravel lane delivers a completely stress-free driving experience from start to finish. The surface stays reliably firm, and there are virtually no grade variations to worry about climbing or descending. The roadbed is entirely free of technical obstacles, meaning undercarriage clearance is never threatened by deep ruts or rocks. Because it operates as a tight single-track, expect some extremely light brush to graze the sides of the vehicle in a few encroaching pockets, but forward visibility remains excellent. At the end of the trail, the two campsites provide plenty of flat, open space to effortlessly pivot and head back out to the main road.
