Trail Overview

This trail begins at an open gate within the National Forest and follows a beautiful route through the marsh before climbing into the surrounding hills. The trail is narrow, winding, and moderately bumpy, encouraging slower travel to fully appreciate the scenery. One section near the marsh has been washed out, creating an off-camber obstacle with a convenient bypass available. There are numerous outstanding dispersed picnic opportunities along the route, including several sites directly beside the river with easy access for fishing, kayaking, or simply relaxing by the water. One particularly scenic open campsite near the gate appears to be a favorite among local campers. As the trail climbs into the mountains, it eventually reaches its true endpoint and does not continue beyond that location. This is an exceptionally scenic drive and is highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the river, marsh, and surrounding forest. This route is subject to Seasonal Designation. Please check local regulations and current conditions before traveling.
