This trail begins as a relatively straightforward forest road before gradually becoming much narrower and significantly more challenging. As the route progresses, maintenance decreases, and deep ruts, off-camber sections, undulating terrain, and several downed trees require careful driving. Low range and a capable high-clearance 4x4 are recommended for the more difficult sections, particularly where the trail narrows through dense forest. Several encampments were observed along the route that may belong to the Klamath Tribes and should be respected. Eventually, the trail opens into a scenic marsh before continuing through sandy sections and winding forest tracks that reconnect with the main road. The changing terrain and varied scenery make the route especially rewarding, but drivers should be prepared for slow travel and changing trail conditions throughout. Overall, this is a scenic and adventurous trail best suited for experienced off-road drivers and well-equipped vehicles. This route is subject to Seasonal Designation.
