This trail is designated for high-clearance off-road vehicles and ATVs only and provides a scenic climb through the surrounding hillsides. The route winds upward through a beautiful landscape with lush, low-growing vegetation lining both sides of the trail. A few trees have fallen partially into the roadway, but there is still enough room to safely pass without difficulty. As the trail climbs, sections of ruts and exposed rocks create some more technical areas, especially when combined with the sandy surface that can reduce traction. This combination of loose terrain, uneven surfaces, and elevation changes, while enjoyable and scenic, requires drivers to ensure they are using an appropriate vehicle, as access is limited according to the MVUM to high-clearance off-road vehicles and ATVs. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
