Trail Overview
This wide, well-maintained gravel road is regularly used and serves as a main access route through the area. Numerous spur roads and side trails branch off from it. Please note that one section is blocked by a closed gate that is only passable by ATVs and SxSs. Another side road has been permanently closed by the Forest Service, with a large log placed across the entrance and no bypass available. Most of the side trails branching off this gravel road have sandy surfaces with extensive sections of very fine, loose sand. Drivers should be prepared for soft conditions on these routes. The road also provides access to the Tetherow Log Jam Boat Ramp, which offers water access for water activities. Once you leave the Tetherow Log Jam Boat Ramp Road and rejoin this trail, the road becomes slightly less maintained, although it remains smooth and easy to travel. The surface features continuous rolling undulations that can make the vehicle feel as though it is gently swaying over waves. Adjusting your suspension, if possible, can help provide a more comfortable ride and allow you to enjoy the flowing terrain. Those who are prone to motion sickness may find this section less comfortable.
