Trail Overview
This well-maintained gravel forest road steadily climbs through the mountains for several miles, offering an enjoyable drive through beautiful forest scenery. The road is generally in good condition, although the first few miles contain some large potholes and sections of corrugation. Deer are commonly seen along the route, so drivers should remain alert, especially around dawn and dusk. As the road continues, it winds through forests and valleys with occasional views of rocky hillsides where fallen rocks and boulders can sometimes be found along the roadside. Around 7.5 miles in, use extra caution at a sharp right-hand bend where heavy corrugation coincides with a steep drop-off on the left. The road can encourage higher speeds due to its generally smooth condition, but this section requires slower, careful driving. A few fallen logs may also be encountered, though they are generally easy to move around. Be sure to observe all posted fire restrictions in the area and on onX, particularly during the dry season.
Difficulty
The main difficulty comes from corrugated sections, potholes, and one sharp corner with an exposed drop-off.
