Trail Overview
This well-maintained trail climbs steadily through the forest and offers a gorgeous drive despite recent damage from past storms in the area. Many trees have been damaged, but crews have trimmed vegetation back from the road, keeping the route passable. Some sections of the road have also been affected by recent storms, with areas that have been gutted or degraded, although nothing is considered too difficult to navigate. Several twists and curves along the route require extra attention, so use care and be prepared for changing road conditions. The northern portion of the trail passes through an active logging area, where logging trucks may be present. Exercise extra caution and watch for work vehicles when traveling through this section. One dispersed camping area lies along the trail; it is a lovely little campsite and provides a pleasant place to stop and spend some time while exploring the area. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid Oregon ATV Operating Permit sticker.
