FS 2257537 starts out climbing with several small (6–10 inch) water bars and basketball-size rocks to navigate around. The trail narrows in certain parts due to downed trees, twists, and turns in the trail. Several sections are wide open with few trees, while some areas are dark and dense with a lot of fern. This is considered one step up from a gravel road, and four-wheel drive, rock crawling, or high clearance are not needed.
