Trail Overview

Tucked away within the beautiful Willamette National Forest, FS 2067530 is a quiet, lightly traveled route that offers a fascinating look at a transitioning woodland environment. Branching off from the main Forest Service Road 2067, the entrance lacks a formal trail sign but is straightforward to spot. Outdoor enthusiasts frequently utilize this secluded, out-and-back spur to find remote dispersed camping spots, access quiet hunting grounds, or simply explore the changing backcountry landscape. The drive begins under a dense, lush evergreen canopy before breaking out into a wide, sunlit valley that has been recently logged, providing open views of the surrounding hillsides. As you continue to gently climb out of the valley, the track plunges back into the heavy timber. Toward the end of the 2.2-mile journey, nature actively reclaims the old roadbed; the final stretch becomes increasingly swallowed by thick brush, tall grasses, and fallen trees that eventually barricade the route and serve as a natural turnaround point.

Difficulty

This is a relatively mild, hard-packed gravel and dirt out-and-back spur that noticeably narrows and becomes overgrown toward its terminus. For the majority of the drive, the surface remains pleasantly smooth and free of any deep water bars, large embedded rocks, or challenging technical terrain, meaning it does not require elevated ground clearance or a specialized four-wheel-drive system to safely navigate. As you gain elevation near the upper section, the gravel becomes slightly looser, and the encroaching vegetation grows much thicker. Drivers should maintain a polite, steady momentum and be prepared to carefully turn around once the fallen trees and heavy brush physically limit any further forward travel.
