FS 1000-242

This is a dirt-based forest road that runs parallel to Highway 242. This trail has minor ruts and wash, some washboard that makes the trail very bumpy, and some areas of minor rock garden. Camping is allowed along this trail with many pre-existing campsites along the way. If you are riding the trails in this area and are aired down, this is a good alternative to the pavement and airing back up. There are multiple trails that split off this one for you to explore. This trail is suitable for any vehicle type, despite being narrow. There are no amenities, cell phone service is decent, and you are 10-15 minutes from the town of Sisters, where you will find services and supplies.
