Trail Overview

The trail is one of 2 Jeep Badge of Honor trails in the Tillamook State Forest (Brown's Camp Area), and is among the most popular routes for off-roaders. The trail is open most of the year, weather and fire permitting. During high fire danger, the park has off hours (morning/evening) or may be closed altogether. The draw for this trail comes midway with an uphill climb through a massive rock garden that starts easy but becomes an extremely challenging event. Completing this obstacle leaves one feeling very accomplished. From this point, the trail continues to meander throughout the forest uphill, with a teaser of Crusher Loop up top to the left. Stay straight to complete the trail. Minimum requirements for this trail include 33- to 35-inch tires, front and rear lockers, a winch, and solid driving skills.

Difficulty

Many mapping apps including Jeep's BOH app suggest a 5-7 rating, however, any moisture added will increase the difficulty, and vehicle damage can occur. The uphill rock garden midway is the bulk of this rating; dry or wet; it proves to be a great and demanding challenge.

Dry and icy most of the way but when it starts to thaw it’s pretty slippery no snow on the actual trail.

Wet, rocky and uphill. It was a good time. I made it up with my tacoma trd sport no locker on 33s with only front and rear bumpers and a heavy tent canopy. Only damage is from the beginning of trail hard sharp left my door was rubbed by a tree stump leaving surface scratches.

I am pretty sure I ran this trail backwards from South to North. I wound around to it from the Cedar tree trail. Wanted to save the best for last kind of thing. Giong S-N It was definitely easier because i went down the uphill stuff. I mist definitely look forward to going back and running it N-S as intended with a group so i can hit the rocks and play harder. I hit EVERY obstacle with the exception of the rock garden in the middle. There is a optional gatekeeper trail that seems like its fun for experienced crawlers called CRUSHERS. I wanna hit that with a group and a spotter!

Tight trail in spots, expect body damage if in anything larger than a Jeep Unlimited, even just going with a Gladiator expect some damage. Group of 15 rigs, several flat tires, broken ujoints, body damage. Too tight for a Toyota pickup at one point.

Did it in a mild 4runner (33s, rear locker) but got rocker damage, its no joke! One of the coolest trails I’ve ever ran though, the rain and mud with all the rocks was fun.
