Trail Overview

Cedar Tree is one of two Jeep Badge of Honor Trails in Tillamook State Forest and in all of Oregon state. The trail is about 4.5 miles long and you should plan to spend about 4 to 4.5 hours to complete it. This trail winds through the incredibly lush Tillamook Forest (some say rainforest). Being a coastal mountain, the area receives a moderate amount of precipitation throughout the year. When dry, you can easily do the trail in 4 hours, but when wet, it will take longer due to slick rocks, tree roots, and the trail in general. Go prepared; start with a full fuel tank and pack a lunch as you will be miles from civilization. Have recovery gear, spare parts, and knowledge just in case.

Excellent conditions. Perfect weather. No body damage on the gladiator. Pick your lines through the trees and you’ll be fine.

First time doing Cedar Tree in our Wrangler 4xe Rubicon with 35’s. Was definitely more challenging (and fun) with mud, snow and large water filled ruts. Awesome trail, great time of year to do it if you like more of a challenge. Lots of traffic (side by sides, ATV’s and Jeeps).

I hit this trail solo. It took me about 2 hours to go through it. The trail is pretty tight almost everywhere. But its a real fun time. I will hit this trail again

Great trail to cut teeth on. Some technical spots to try out your stuff! High clearance obstacles for those with lower rides should be aware. I busted my steps when I went. Worth it though. Check it out!

This trail was a really fun. Very tight turns and a few obstacles but nothing too crazy. For me this trail felt just right for my Jeep and I was amazed at how easily it handled some of the rougher sections. I will definitely be doing this again.

I did this whole trail in 2wd, with the exception of 2 small obstacles. This should be rated a 2 at most .

Trail was mostly dry. Some spots had some larger puddles but nothing of concern. Trail is overall easy and can be completed by any high clearance vehicle that isn’t too wide or long. My GX470 felt too wide at some spots and rubbed on the kick out sliders.

Trail was wet and muddy which made it even more fun! The trail is real tight in certain spots, but made it through without any scratches or dings! The actual Cedar Tree isn't what it used to be so get up there and snap a pic with it while you can!

Actual date was March 1st but getting this in too late to report for that. Trail was fun, some challenges- like a tree that had fallen over both the main path and the bypass. Some motorcycle/quad people (apparently) carved a path only wide enough for a narrow quad to pass through (we winched it out of the way). Some sections that required 4lo but mainly high clearance 2wd was sufficient.
