Dark Lake - FS 2066-600

This is a wide, gravel-based forest road that dead-ends at Dark Lake and Camp Tamarack. The trail is smooth with very little washboard and is relatively flat, making it suitable for any vehicle type. You will enjoy forest views along the trail with an occasional view of the ridges around you, then enjoy the waterfront view of Dark Lake. Camping is allowed along this trail, but there is a gate at Camp Tamarack, and you cannot enter as the area is a children's camp. There is a parking lot for the hiking trail just outside the gate of Camp Tamarack that is large enough for 4-5 vehicles. Cell phone service was decent on the trail, but there are no amenities. You are approximately 20-25 minutes from Sisters, which is the nearest services and supplies.
