This is a dirt-based forest road that is narrow with room to pass. The trail has some heavy washboard and some rock garden sections that you definitely want to be aired down for, but overall this is an easy trail suitable for any vehicle type. The highlight of this trail is that camping is allowed along the entire trail with multiple pre-existing campsites, and you will have great views across the valley from Sisters towards Redmond as well as of the peaks in the area including the Three Sisters, Black Butte, and Mount Washington. The cell phone service is weak, and there are no amenities, so travel prepared, as the nearest services and supplies are over 40 minutes away in Sisters.
