Black Butte Trail - FS 1110

This trail starts off as a wide, hard-packed gravel-based road with heavy washboard. The trail dead ends near the top at a parking lot for the hiking trail up to the Lookout Tower. As you get closer to the end, there are 2 switchbacks where the road narrows and becomes rock-based instead of gravel. The trail is bumpy but offers great views of the surrounding mountain and valley, and camping is allowed along this entire trail. Cell phone service is decent on this trail, and the only amenity is a vault-style toilet in the parking lot at the end. From the start of this trail, you are approximately 10 minutes from the nearest services and supplies in Sisters. This trail is suitable for any vehicle type.
