Trail Overview

This wonderful trailt is very scenic and runs through some locally owned areas and some with pine plantations. It eventually ends in a national forest area and on Oklahoma Wildlife Department land when you get near the Mountain Fork River--well-maintained roads in places. Beware of the open yellow gates as crews are working in the area, and you might get locked in if they do not know you are there. The best partis that t goes over several small hills and ends with a drop into the river campground Holly Creek Landing. It was a super fun family trip.

Difficulty

Mostly the road is just a bit narrow, there are some water holes, not very deep at all. Can be accomplished in a high clearance vehicle with ease.

History

This is an old trail known by many locals, used frequently.

The trail was little muddy and wet in a few spots but very manageable in my AWD Mazda CX-50. Saw a few 2WD vehicles out there as well.

Trail was dry, small puddles near campsite/ end of trail loop. Went down to the beach area right before the end circle loop and was swarmed by large mosquitoes. We then were able to traverse most of the open small trials we could in and around the campsites before heading out.

Trail was dry, mostly gravel/rock, occasionally alternated to dirt. Easy drive, no challenges, just bumpy.

Really only one good spot to set up for swimming but a pretty good spot. Other parts are overgrown with vegetation. A good spot to camp or take the family out to the lake

trail was super easy. no hard obstacles. Just dirt and gravel. like 3 puddles at the end of the trail. lots of trees to park under or near. Great swimming and possibly fishing spot. but alot of flying, gnats, moths and mosquitoes.

Easy trail that ends at a primitive campground at the lake. It was a fun drive! I did not use 4 wheel drive as there were no obstacles. Part of the loop at the end is overgrown and easy to miss. The camp ground is in desperate need of maintenance.
