Trail Overview

Powerline Cove - FS 6020 is a 2.7-mile out-and-back route that follows a well-maintained gravel surface through heavily forested terrain. The road is a generous single lane and carries an easy difficulty rating, providing straightforward travel while maintaining the character of a National Forest road. A quiet forest setting surrounds the route for its entire length, and much of the drive roughly follows the shoreline of Persimmon Lake, adding variety to the otherwise wooded corridor. Several side trails branch away from the main road, so drivers should remain on the designated route to avoid unintended detours. A campsite is located at the end of the road, which terminates in an open area that provides space to turn around before returning along the same route. Access is restricted to highway-legal vehicles only.
