Trail Overview

Mill Ridge provides users with a scenic connection to the Blue Ridge Parkway along a rough and somewhat rutted two-lane-wide gravel road. Compared with many of the easier gravel routes in the surrounding area, Mill Ridge offers a slightly more rugged driving experience due to several sections of large and deep ruts. Despite their appearance, lower-clearance vehicles can generally navigate around the worst sections with careful line selection. AWD vehicles should have little difficulty traveling the trail under normal and dry conditions. Drivers should use additional caution following heavy rain, when the existing ruts and loose gravel may become more challenging. Mill Ridge is an enjoyable route for users looking for a slightly rougher gravel-road experience while connecting directly with the Blue Ridge Parkway.
