Trail Overview
Holiday Loop can be accessed directly from West Ridge Road and provides another option for users exploring the Boiling Spring Lakes Preserve trail network. Unlike some of the wider and better-maintained roads in the area, Holiday Loop consists primarily of an overgrown two-track that sees less frequent vehicle traffic. The trail is generally free from major obstacles, but users should remain cautious of the deep mud holes commonly found throughout this coastal trail system. These holes can become especially challenging following periods of heavy rain and may be much deeper and softer than they initially appear. Fortunately, Holiday Loop travels through a wooded area with several sturdy trees located close to the trail, providing plenty of potential recovery points should a vehicle become stuck. Carrying appropriate recovery equipment is still recommended when exploring this route.
