Trail Overview
La Madera Viveash begins as a primarily rocky trail with short steep grades, rocks up to 14 inches in size, with some rock gardens and some rutting. The rocky sections have a combination of loose rocks, small rock ledges, and some steps that must be traversed in both directions. Ruts throughout the trail vary in depth from 8 to 18 inches, some of which are off-camber over loose rocks and dirt. The trail is primarily single vehicle wide, but does provide enough room for traffic if necessary. Overall, the trail is not complex or too technical and should be easily completed by most 4x4 and high clearance AWD vehicles. Once past the rocky sections of the trail, it quickly changes to a primarily dirt surface that is in good condition with no notable obstacles. The trail dead-ends at a locked gate when intersecting a private land boundary. Dispersed camping is not permitted along this particular trail, but there are multiple other dispersed camping and exploring opportunities in the area, each offering unique views and features. Cell service varies significantly in the region, with the La Madera Viveash trail having weak to no service;offline maps are highly recommended.

Trail has set and loose rocks up to 14 inches in size, as well as deep ruts that can be up to 18 inches in depth and off-camber on loose dirt with some rocks in the mix. There are a few short steep grade hills and a few small rock gardens and rock ledges, but with proper line choice, the trail should be easily completed by most high-clearance AWD vehicles. This area tends to get significant snowfall in the winter and may either be impassable or closed.
