Trail Overview

The route takes you from the Dayton area to Sunrise Pass. The canyon can be challenging with dirt, sand, and rock crawling sections. There is a creek that has seasonal water flow but does not make the trail undoable for high-clearance vehicles. It has cottonwood trees, pinon pine trees, and other vegetation that has overgrown the trail in spots. Except for brush scrapes on your vehicle. Snow in the winter can make the trail difficult.

Difficulty

The trail runs in the bottom of a canyon crossing a creek numerous times. Vegetation can be encroaching on the trail, expect brush scraping on vehicles. There are rock crawling sections. One location towards the Sunrise Pass end of the trail is very off-camber. Full-size vehicles or vehicles with a high center of gravity are not recommended.

Pretty rocky. I don’t think I would not have made it without 35’s but gladiator is stock. Pretty challenging in some spots but a good time!

Great ride with beautiful scenery! Numerous creek crossings with large rocks to maneuver around and over. If on quad, experience rider a must!

A good trail. Very technical in a few sections. With enjoyable multiple water crossings, a pleasant challenge. Good ground clearance is a must. Wide track vehicles will find it more challenging, I was happy to be at 64" total width.
