Trail Overview

Be sure to start your day with a round of frisbee golf at the Blue Mountain Disc Golf Course before continuing up Blue Mountain to find incredible vistas of the Missoula valley. The road is well maintained gravel with some deeper potholes and jagged rocks but be prepared to run into snow during the early parts of the spring and summer. There are many great campsites towards the top of the mountain for that weekend away from the hustle of town without getting too far from the safety of humanity.

Open, easy ~13 mi dirt road. Intersects in spots with trails for hikers and mtn/dirt bikers, watch the tight turns. At the end of this route, it branches into other options to extend the trip. Many wildflowers. Lots of options along the way for hiking, biking, and camping. Great views!

2/3 up the trail there’s a pretty deep snow drift that bottlenecks you to the cliffs edge. Passible in a utv or high clearance truck. I see someone already put a tire off the cliff edge but managed to keep going. Lots of trees pushing you to the edge as well

About 2/3 up to fire tower we hit snow that I didn’t want to mess with in our stock Forester. There were lots of trees down, but someone had been through with a chainsaw and all of them were passable up to where we hit the snow.
