Trail Overview
FR 612E branches off Forest Road 612 and quickly becomes a narrower two-track with a mix of dirt and rocks. As you continue, the trail becomes increasingly muddy, with mud holes that can get very slippery after rain and may cause your vehicle to slide. There is a dispersed camping area about halfway along the trail, and you may also spot signs of wildlife such as deer along the way. Toward the end, the trail reaches a marshy area with a water crossing. Conditions here can change significantly with weather, so use caution, especially after rain. This trail is not recommended for full-size 4x4s. The narrow, muddy, and marshy sections make it better suited to ATVs and lighter off-road vehicles, particularly near the water crossing. If you're looking for a more primitive ATV adventure, FR 612E can provide a fun challenge, but know the conditions before heading in.
