Trail Overview

W 6-1/2 Trail is a bidirectional trail within the Cadillac Forest Management Unit. Located between W 8 Trail and 3 Road, this trail is easily accessible whether you are just beginning or in the middle of your adventure. Starting out, you'll begin on a sandy/dirt/gravel two-track. As you navigate down the trail, you'll enter a thicker section of the forest that narrows with a fair amount of overgrowth. PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY, and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! As you weave along the trail, you may come across some washouts and/or mud holes. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. Come prepared. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle with limited places to pass. There was a little hill climb to take note of, but other than that and the occasional mud hole/rut here and there, nothing too much to note. We particularly loved all the wildflowers growing along this route. They were a beautiful sight to see. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of beauty. Regardless of the length or conditions, this is a fantastic trail!
