Trail Overview

Viaduct Trail is a laid-back and scenic 1-mile bidirectional trail within the Traverse City Forest Management Unit. Located between Benton Road and 600, this trail is easily accessible. This trail surface consists mostly of dirt with the occasional sand and/or gravel mixture. This route traverses through a beautiful portion of the forest where there are tons of sights to see. What an absolutely gorgeous trail! The trail is easygoing with no real obstacles to note. There are a few ruts here and there, but nothing too crazy. Like most Michigan offroad trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. This is not a difficult trail at all, but it contains a lot of beauty and gives access to local hiking, hunting, and recreation. Be sure to stick to the trail as one side of the trail is right along private property the whole way. Please do not trespass and respect their privacy. Regardless of the length or conditions of this trail, it's a scenic and fun route to check out. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails.
