Trail Overview
Benton West Trail is a quick, bidirectional Michigan two-track off-road trail within the Traverse City Forest Management Unit. Located between Viaduct Trail and Benton Road, this trail is easily accessible. This trail surface consists of a dirt and leaf combination. This route weaves itself in and out of an overgrown part of the forest. There are some breathtaking views along this route that make way for some incredible sights. There really isn't much to note along this route, but still one to check out! Like most Michigan offroad trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause unfavorable conditions on the trail, including downed trees, mud holes, and washouts. This is not a difficult trail, but it contains a lot of fun and gives access to local hiking, hunting, and other recreation. Regardless of the length or conditions of this trail, it's a route worth checking out. The end of this trail is a bit confusing, as it seems to just randomly end, so make sure to use our onX map and kick out to the trail above. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails.
