North Deer Trail

North Deer Trail is a bidirectional trail within the Traverse City Forest Management Unit. Located between Plagany Trail and 3rd Creek Trail, this trail is easily accessible. Most of the trail is a combination of dirt and sand. This trail is pretty straightforward, but it does twist and turn quite a few times, which makes it an interesting trail. There are also gorgeous views of the forest all around, which makes it an incredible trail that you don't want to miss. This trail is unique in how it transitions back and forth between an open sky view to a closed-off forest-type view. Like most Michigan trails, conditions are dependent on the weather. Recent rainfall can cause downed trees, washouts, & mud holes. Most of this trail is only wide enough for 1 vehicle, with limited places to pass. This trail being bidirectional makes it easy to navigate to your next trail to continue on your adventure. As always, PLEASE TREAD LIGHTLY and be respectful of our public lands so future generations can have access to these trails! This is not a difficult trail at all, but it still contains lots of fun with plenty of scenic views.
