Trail Overview
This trail is heavily overgrown and difficult to follow, as tall prairie grass and brush have begun to reclaim the path. In many spots, the original track nearly disappears, leaving only faint tire impressions or narrow clearings through the vegetation. The route transitions out of the wooded area and crosses an open prairie, offering a different landscape but requiring careful attention to stay on course. There are no major obstacles or technical challenges, but the lack of trail definition can make navigation tricky.
Difficulty
This trail poses no technical challenges or obstacles, but heavy overgrowth and a faint path can make navigation slightly tricky. Drivers should move slowly to stay on course and watch for hidden ruts or brush, though overall the route remains easy and suitable for most vehicles.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
