Trail Overview
This trail is mostly easygoing, winding through open prairie and light tree cover, but it does include a section that requires extra attention. At one point, the terrain rises sharply on one side of the vehicle, creating a noticeable off-camber tilt that can unsettle less experienced drivers. Careful wheel placement and slow speed are recommended when approaching this sidehill section. Farther along, there is a single mud hole that, while soft on top, appears to have a firm base and is generally passable under dry or moderately wet conditions.
Difficulty
This trail presents a moderate challenge due to its off-camber section, where the terrain slopes sharply on one side and can unsettle your vehicle’s balance. Drivers should proceed slowly and use caution through this area to maintain control. There is also a mud hole along the route, though it generally has a solid base and is manageable with proper traction. Beyond these features, the trail is mostly mild with minimal technical obstacles.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
