Trail Overview
This trail winds through a dense wooded section, where branches and brush reach in close, making pinstriping very likely for wider vehicles. As you progress, the terrain transitions from dry sand to deeper mud ruts, especially in the shaded low spots. Several mud holes hold standing water, and while they appear to have a solid base, there are noticeable hard spots that feel like packed roots beneath the mud. These can catch a tire or shift traction unexpectedly, so careful throttle control is advised. Despite the messier areas, the trail remains manageable for most off-road rigs.
Difficulty
The mud has a solid base but may hide tree ruts, requiring cautious tire placement. While not highly technical, drivers need awareness and traction to avoid getting stuck or scraping, making it moderately difficult.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
