Trail Overview
This trail presents a moderate challenge due to a combination of deep ruts and natural erosion features. As you begin the ascent, the hill climb grows steeper, with exposed tree roots creating uneven steps and dirt ledges up to a foot tall. These ledges require careful approach to avoid being bounced off your line. The trail also tilts off-camber at this point, causing the vehicle to lean noticeably toward the tree line, which can be intimidating for wider rigs or drivers unaccustomed to side-hill angles. With obstacles that test traction and vehicle balance, this trail requires deliberate driving and attention to line selection, especially in wet conditions.
Difficulty
This trail is moderately difficult due to its deep ruts, steep root-covered climb, and off-camber lean toward trees. The natural ledges and erosion require careful tire placement and good ground clearance.
History
This park was formerly known as Sandy Bottoms, and longtime visitors may still refer to it by that name. The access road and staging area have evolved over time, but it remains a well-known local spot for off-road events and community rides.
