Red Elephant Hill Road Cutoff - FS 848

This single-width trail has limited room for passing and consists mostly of dirt and mud. It descends deeper into dense aspen forest with 8–10 inch ruts. At 0.5 miles, a steep section features large rocks and ledges up to 18 inches tall, making this portion particularly rocky and technical. The trail also connects to several other trails in the area. Overall, this is a scenic but challenging trail requiring good tires and 16–18 inches of front clearance.
