Trail Overview

This is a very popular segment of the 100-mile-long Rainbow Trail. The Hayden Creek trailhead is easily accessible in any vehicle with ample parking. There is also spectacular free and paid camping opportunities in the immediate area. The trail starts out with about 4 miles of climbing. There are a few rocky sections that could cause a little trouble, but the trail is well maintained and flows very well. After the intersection at the top of the climb, there are a couple shelf segments that may require full attention from the rider. Be sure to pause occasionally and take in the views of the valley below and the craggy mountain peaks above.
