Trail Overview

FS 717B is an easy and long ATV trail through the North Divide Off- Highway Vehicle Trail System, cutting through the middle of the longer FS 717 ATV loop. The majority of the trail is very flowy, curving through rolling hillsides on a wide path that is a mix of dirt and pea gravel. It goes through an open and dry forest of ponderosa pines, past scenic rock outcroppings and giant boulders. Expect sweeping banked corners, shallow ruts, and whoops, but no major obstacles. The trail is very gradual, flowing up and over the small hills. There are blind corners, and this area gets heavy use on busy summer weekends, so proceed around the hillsides with caution. At one point, there is a narrow wooden bridge over a wetland area. There are a few sections where the trail is narrow as it is cut into the hillside, with sharp corners. There are several road crossings and intersections, most of which have metal pinch points for 50-inch vehicles and are well marked to help follow the route.
