Trail Overview

This trail starts with a few mud holes and a rocky climb that offers great views of the surrounding mountains. In the summer, snowmelt creates a steady flow of water that can make the toughest sections even more difficult. Campsites are limited, but there's a larger spot at the junction of a side trail about halfway up that's worth checking out. Be prepared, there are no bypasses for any of the obstacles.

Difficulty

The first section of the trail is easy. Once you get to the split halfway up, both routes have challenging boulder sections. Recommend high clearance and 4x4. May need lockers if running smaller tires. No bypasses for the obstacles.

1st half-3. 2nd half-5. Remote and hardly used on the second half. In the Cameron Pass burn scar. The grass on the trail was waist deep. No one had been on this trail in a very long time.
