Trail Overview

This route climbs a winding mountainside road with spectacular views of the rugged landscapes of the Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness. As the road gains elevation, travelers are treated to sweeping vistas of forested valleys, alpine terrain, and distant mountain peaks. The route ends at trailheads providing access to Fryingpan Lakes and Lily Pad Lake, making it a popular starting point for hiking and backcountry exploration. Several excellent dispersed campsites can be found along the way, offering scenic places to camp with outstanding views of the surrounding wilderness.
