Sourgrass Trail

First time on the trail, couple obstacles that looked intimidating. Went up with ease I do have lockers tho. My brother did it in his Gladiator 35” and 2 inch lift. All about line choice.

2nd time running the trail. Couple of tricky spots for vehicles without big tires. I took the bypass around the water crossing, which looked tamer than last year. However, just past that there’s a dry creek bed that is rutted out and in worse shape than last year, big tires or lots of rock stacking needed. The red Jeep in the pics is climbing through that section of trail.

Three technical obstacles right at the beginning. I would rate this more of a 5 than a 4.

A few wet spots and standing water at the end which was breeding mosquitoes. Water crossing offered a little challenge. Felt about the same as the first time I ran it in 2019

Definitely not cut out for a full size truck unless you have a differential guard and don’t care too much about your paint. It’s a very cool trail but it’s a little difficult in a larger vehicle. Will definitely be back 👌

Should be rated higher than 4. There were some challenging spots, river crossing was one of them. Be ready to bang the skid plates and rock sliders, a lot of big boulders. Trail is only 4.3 miles, but it will take some time to complete. Great trail, did not disappoint

This trail never disappoints. I’ve run it twice with a stock 4Runner. In my group was a Bronco and a full size truck (lifted). There are plenty of spots that you can bang your under armor and running boards on. Best to have actual sliders or know that you may need to jump on your running boards to get them back in shape. You can pick the hard routes or the “bypasses”. It can get crowded out here but this trip it wasn’t that at all.
