Trail Overview
Long Point - FS 613-008 is a wide, single-track dirt spur that branches off Tyler Foote Crossing Road as an out-and-back route. The road holds a mostly level grade for its first mile and a half, with a curve near 1.4 miles offering enough room for two vehicles to disperse camp. Past that point, the surface roughens briefly with a stretch of uphill ruts riders need to maneuver around before the grade levels back out. The route stays a consistent dirt surface throughout, winding through mixed forest with scattered oak alongside the conifers. At 2 miles, the road reaches its turnaround point, marking the end of this out-and-back spur. Best travel is in Summer and Fall.
Difficulty
Long Point - FS 613-008 rates a 2, a step up from the easiest classification. Most of the road is smooth, level dirt that poses no challenge, but a stretch of uphill ruts appears around the 1.6-mile mark, requiring some maneuvering to pick a clean line through. Once past that section, the grade flattens back out and stays easy for the remainder of the route. The rating holds at 2 because the ruts are the only technical feature on an otherwise straightforward out-and-back spur, and nothing here requires specialized skill beyond choosing a good line.
