Trail Overview
Branching off Forest Road 7N19, Forest Service Road 7N76Y is a secluded out-and-back spur tucked away in the northwestern corner of Stanislaus National Forest. The route winds gently beneath a thick canopy of dense conifer timber, where pine needle duff and shaded woodland create a tranquil backcountry corridor. Outdoor enthusiasts primarily utilize this pathway to reach peaceful primitive dispersed campsites or scout remote ridgelines above the Salt Springs Reservoir basin. The single-lane road maintains a firm natural foundation up to the intersection with short spur 16DC426, after which maintenance ceases, heavy roadside brush encroaches, and the track eventually fades out at a quiet turnaround campsite.

Rated 2 for Technical Difficulty, this trail consists of a narrow, single-lane packed dirt and loose gravel surface. Obstacles are minor, primarily featuring cleared tree limbs along the shoulders and intermittent erosion ruts measuring 14 to 16 inches deep, which can be comfortably straddled or skirted with attentive line choice. The latter portion past the spur road becomes overgrown with brush, but overall grades remain mild to the end.
