Trail Overview
This trail is rocky and sandy, with plenty of loose red silty sand covering the road. It is relatively narrow, but not so narrow that pinstriping should be a concern. The surrounding forest looks somewhat messy, with many trees trimmed unevenly, and rocks are scattered throughout the route, so take care where you place your tires. The trail leads to Feather Lake, which is currently dry and looks more like a large lakebed. The lake typically receives water during the winter months from rain runoff and the rainy season, so it may look quite different when water is present; covering approximately 55 acres, the lakebed is a sizable area to explore. Numerous trails and routes branch off from the main road, offering plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding area, with routes leading toward Feather Lake. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid California ATV Operating Permit sticker.
