Trail Overview
This long trail winds along a valley through a landscape filled with volcanic rock, offering some beautiful views of the surrounding terrain. The road alternates between relatively smooth sections and extremely rocky stretches, with some rocks high enough to raise ground-clearance concerns. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended to help navigate the rougher areas without scraping the underside. The exposed volcanic rock creates an interesting landscape, almost like a small lava field, and adds plenty of character to the route. At the end, the trail opens into a turnaround area where there may be room to camp, although conditions and available space should be assessed before settling in. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid California ATV Operating Permit sticker.
