Trail Overview

This beautiful, well-maintained trail climbs gradually through the forest, with a few rocky sections, but nothing particularly challenging. Much of the fallen tree debris appears to have been cleared recently in preparation for winter, leaving the route in good condition and making for a pleasant drive through the surrounding woodland. Keep an eye out for occasional rocks and any remaining debris as you head uphill. At the top, a large fallen tree marks the end of the accessible trail, and you’ll also find a spacious clearing that works as a turnaround area or a lovely spot for dispersed camping; the open space provides plenty of room to stop and enjoy the peaceful forest surroundings before heading back down. ATVs, UTVs, Side-by-Sides, and Dirt Bikes must always have a valid California ATV Operating Permit sticker.
