Trail Overview

FS 1S89 branches off the main FS 1S25 road and settles into a calm, single-lane track over firm, packed dirt. The road climbs gradually as it works north, narrowing slightly the further it goes, with scattered small rocks and light debris across the tread here and there. Tall pines line both sides for most of the drive, opening occasionally to reveal pleasant views down into the valley below. A couple of open clearings near the start show signs of recent forestry work, with cut logs and cleared debris piled along the shoulders rather than the road itself. The road stays gentle and predictable for its full length, with no significant obstacles to worry about, ending about a mile in at the current terminus of the maintained road, where the drive turns back the way it came.
